Does anyone out there run a stroked I5?

I have seen long blocks advertised for the 1500 - 2000 range.

They do not recommend for turbo applications? Is anyone out their doing it anyway.

A week ago the motor on my urquattro froze number 2 rod and cracked a hole in the block. I went to the local junkyard and got a donor motor out of a 1989 turbo car for the block. In the process of stripping the block for machining I looked at the bearings. The cars odometer read around 190,000 miles the bearings showed almost no wear. I was really impressed. This i5 motor could take way more power and still run for along time.

I think the way to go might be a stroker 3b motor?

Any comments oh loyal I5 guys?

It was a 20V motor. Some fueling problems they
could never figure out.

Take a look at what the European tuners are doing, like ABT, etc......

Even Audi motors can be "too radical" to run correctly.

Forget the 3b motor. Too many problems when they're hot-rodded. They cross fire, then, KABOOM! That's why Audi only made them for one year (and never used them for racing). You're better off with an AAN motor from an S4-S6. Much easier to tune, and GOBS of power to spare.
