I too am an audi fan however the whole rally thing has passed audi by.

The current sucessful rally cars are smaller, lighter and much more powerful than a old audi quattro.

I bought this really tricked out 1985 4000 turbo quattro racecar and expected to kick some but at the local races. It worked in 1985 but today a show room stock BMW M3 will eat my racecar for lunch.

If your doing it for fun, well ok.

If your doing it to win, forget it. Start with a better platform to begin with

Ok, so this reply is a little late, but I bought an 85 4kq to build out. I've never run in a rally before, so I'm going to learn on a slow car. The only mods I'm doing are big ass mudflaps and skidplates for now.

If you're interested in rallying a quattro, I think you should stick with 4kq's. There seems to be a pretty good knowledge base out there for 4000's.

I'd be interested in hearing about your choice.
