Anybody know anyone with an extremely fast audi 4000S? like more than 200+hp fast. Just wanna know cause these cars are slow...seriously. 0-60 sec in 12 seconds with an auto trans. Im pretty sure a honda civic is faster.

Havnt come across many (or any) fast automatic 4k fwd cars, ever.
Did run my old 4k at the drag strip. A 19.5 quarter mile isnt thrilling (neither is an 18 flat quarter for the 4kq).
0-60 for a 4k automatic = forever.

If what he was talking about were 4kq's with turbo swaps, this would be different.

though I never saw any printouts, I havent opened up the engine but supposedly the head's been decked and conditioned, as well as polished and flow-matched, it has a 272 cam, the crank is balanced and the pistons are (i think its forged?) and i know the compression has been changed (but lowered or raised i couldnt tell you) It's pretty built up, but also pretty tired (hence my desire to do a swap) the exhaust is all custom, and Im sure theres something I'm not remembering. I do remember it was much faster when the PO had it, but he beat the hell out of it (2 clutch discs in 6 months, later slid off a dirt road going 60 and tore out some lines)
So 150 assuming the PO was honest, but that might be a stretch, actually...now I want to find out for sure, I'll be looking for a local place that has a awd dyno

You don't NEED an awd dyno.
In the urq manual it says you can use a FWD dyno if you lock the center diff, and disconnect the front driveshaft connection.
(I suppose you could just jack up the rear wheels (maybe take the rear wheels off too) to keep the back wheels from moving teh car when the front are on teh dyno)
I doubt that there were ANY awd dynos around when the urq came out!

Much cheaper than engine work, if you can con a buddy to do that to thier Honda...LOL

but going from ~70whp stock to double that on a 10v JT is near impossible. The 272 cam & PnP probably gave another ~25hp max (based off 034 getting +10hp on the cam alone) then again without knowing valve size & what not maybe squeezed a little more out?
What is your current redline? If the head is fully built, and from what youve noted the pistons are forged and the crank has had some work I'd only speculate that they wouldve balanced the motor which would make your redline seem nonexistent (still have power into the red on your tach before pinging as our vac advance can only go so far)..
I am interested in seeing whats all been done to your JT to hit some good HP figures (FWIW 150awhp is more like ~190 hp @ the crank)...
As a side note:
My 20v 7A has tubular headers, injectors, intake, ecu chip & dyno tune, free flowing exhaust and tweaked MAF, my best dyno was putting down 145 @ all wheels and again thats on a DOHC motor with better tuning ability...

So seriously slow with its 700+ hp @ the wheels...
or type in "Audi 80 V8" to see a nice 300 hp 84 4kQ with that purring V8 under the hood...

For some reason, canada never got any 4 cylinder FWD 4k cars (as far as I know).
All 4ks (4k & 4kq) that came to Cananda had the inline 5.
So when at Carlise, It's weird to me to see a 4 cylinder motor in a 4k..

All i'm saying is, I know my 4kq is faster than a 12 second 0-60, and the number the PO told me after testing. How honest he was, or how accurate the testing was, well I wasn't there. I do know that is much faster than the stock 85' 4000 i rode in a few years ago.
I might look into doing what Frank suggested, just to put my own doubts aside.

the 115 HP mark was measured @ the crank from factory, and with a 25% AWD loss (which is being nice) puts you @ 86.25awhp. 034's 10v JT only hit like 72awhp on the dyno before the cam (which, given mileage and age isnt surprising to loose a few hp, and again that 25% loss is being generous). If your 150hp @ the crank is correct, then you should see ~112hp @ the wheels.
The only reason why i questioned this to begin with is driving my 20v with ~150 @ the wheels theres nothing that says "tired" about it. And that is weighing in a noticeable amount more then my 84 4kQ, so I was just thinking if you had 150 @ the wheels and it feels tired then something must be seriously wrong hahaha

I don't know exactly what was done to the motor (when I had it) but I know it had a lot of top end work. not sure about the bottom end or what was done to it after I sold it. I guessed it @ about 125hp @ the wheels. it was rather quick for an NA car.
oh and my friend is getting all of the video of that car digitized for me so I'll have my hands on it shortly.

and it isn't as throttle responsive as it used to be. Or maybe I just set the timing back to tdc and it was advanced before.
