Hi all,
I recently acquired an 1986 audi 80cc. In an effort to get it started, I dropped the oil, changed the filter and check spark on the plugs when cranking. I however didn't notice any fuel.

I check the fuse to fuel pump and measures +9 volts getting to pump. I also tried connecting a battery straight to the pump and still couldn't hear it working.

So I started working on getting the fuel pump out and the fuel filter. I managed to snap the fuel line going to the front of the car... GREAT !

The other problems this car had was the car would stop after 1km, the previous owner believed this to be the transmission cooler and thus supplied a replacement one with it which is actually the oil differential cooler.

1.Will an Audi 80 B4 2.0 fuel line fit onto the 4000/80cc ? As it looked very very similar to mine. (1990)
2.Ditto with fuel pump as above ? (Looks different)
3.Differential oil cooler under pressure or any method to changing it ?

Any recommended links for faq's/parts on these cars ?

Thanks !

Many folks on this forum are very knowledgable about our cars.

I know you can swap FP from a 5000 series, however am not sure about swapping another "looks different FP". It sounds like to me that your FP is dead. It would also explain why it stopped after driving one km.... in that it only worked until a bit of time passed, and then stopped.

The fuel lines are tricky. some of that hosing down there is NLA.

there are two fuel filters down there, be sure to change both when fixing all these problems.

Thanks mate, I will give the audi 80 fuel pump ago, I don't know if it could hurt ?

What is NLA ?

Well the line comes from the tank into a small filter?? than to another filter?? into the pump and into the big fuel filter.

I took a picture of the audi 80 stuff and I can get pictures of my stuff.(Though I forgot to get a picture of the fuel pump from a car that actually had the fuel pump in it ! It was a silver pump if that helps ?)

Though I will have to get underneath to remember how it went together.

Anyone have a diagram of the fuel filters/tank etc ? I am planning to purchase one.

Nice 4000 ! :)
