At night I can see the reflection of my center brake light. I notice at stops that the light does not turn on unless I press rather hard on the brakes.

In the archives I read that the sensor is connected to the brake hydraulic pressure. Does anyone know where this sensor is and/or how to adjust it? I would like to take care of this safety problem.

it was corrected by replacing a pressure sensitive switch. In my case, normal pedal pressure wouldn't even illuminate the lights - I had to stomp on the pedal. It sounds like the A4 may use a similar switch as opposed to a microswitch on the brake pedal.
