Okay, I've read the faq's and dozens of archives on this subject but despite all the useful info I am still having trouble making an informed decision.

Here's what I am trying to determine:

1. Will the Panasonic model CX-DP801 changer with the PIE adapter AUDPAN98 work with my 2000 A4 "Symphony" non-Bose head unit prewired for changer in the trunk?

2. Can I install it myself or is there some sort of special computer scan required as suggested by this techincal bulletin?

Thanks in advance.

I ordered the Panasonic CX-DP801 changer and the adapter from Crutchfield for about $270. It fits the built in bracket perfectly and no problems with operation at all. The only thing is that the random play button on the concert head unit doesn't work with the Panasonic changer. If you want to stick with original equipment, Clairs has the changer for $269 plus shipping.
