Reggie,
I am seriously considering the Remus for my A4 V6 as well. Is it loud when you get on it when your window is open? With the windows closed, is it intrusive at highway speeds? What car's sound does it compare to? Did you consider the stainless steel SuperSprint?

Best exhaust I know of is the Super Sprint. Get a full cat-back. It improves power (slightly) reduces weight (slightly). And under light throttle would sound only slightly louder then stock (sound almost exactly like a BMW M3 exhaust). Under WOT is has a throaty, but not intrusive growl.
It's all stainless steel. It comes in DTM or straight tip.
The M3 has a wonderfully free flowing stock exhaust. So any popular M3 aftermarket exhaust would have to be pretty damn good. And SS is about the most popular (maybe AA is just as popular, but that's not available for the Audi's).
It's not more expensive then other Stainless Steel cat-back exhausts either. Complete for a M3 is's 739 for straight (which looks better) or DTM is 805. Their main importer is www.BMPD.com, a bmw tuner. But accoding to www.supersprintna.com BMP carries the full line.
(there are other sources of the SS which may or may not be cheaper)

I got my Remus muffler installed (Cost $35 from the local Fort Collins muffler shop) The guy had to cut out a centerpiece in the tube that helps mate the pipe with the remaining straight pipe from the resonator. He spent more time on that than he did the rest of the installation. The Remus I got from APR was $475. The Remus is not a bolt on. You have to cut the pipe after the resonator. I could have done it, but elected to have it done.

First I love the look. The chrome rectangular pipes look great. The look is not one that is seen on the Hondas and Toyotas. The sound is just what I wanted. Under acceleration you can hear a deep growl, but cruising it is as quiet as the stock. I don’t think there is any hp gain, or if there is it is slight – I was not after this nor did I expect it. I did not want a cat back system as they usually are designed for max hp at high RPMs and sacrifice low-end torque. I wanted to keep my A4s driveability, which I did. Note: the 2.8 V6 does not have a turbo and hence back pressure is important to keep the low end torque. The 1.8T does not have this issue, as the turbo would keep the back pressure high. I would also not want to remove or replace the resonator - from what I have read this provides a huge increase in noise and decrease in back pressure.

Steve Sherwood for his inputs were correct and helped on my selection. Steve your insight, and pics, and description of changes has been as good as a Road and Track review. (They have always been good at technical descriptions/reviews Data is very important - the other mags do not provide half as much insight).

The sound was just as he described - You can hear it with the window down but not with the widow up. I did find that there is some growl with the window up but not enough to bother and conversations or music enjoyment. Only when you are under acceleration does the sound come on. I really find that it lets me know what the engine is doing and I look forward to listening to it when I drive. The sound is not a high pitched whine like Honda or Toyotas. Not sure if I can label the sound to any particular car. Just that it is sweet.
