I'm about to pick up a '84 4000. Nothing special, front wheel drive 5 speed 4cyl. Does the 1.8 get decent gas mileage?

I get about 20-25 in town and 30-35 on the highway. Depends on how hard I'm driving her.

even if I converted that to mpg, I'd use the British system - I don't know what you guys call a gallon...

a British gallon is 4.5litres, so the car does 35mpg there, not 29...
