anyone know the pinout for the factory fog light switch? I have one, looks new, but want to test. A quick test with the ohm meter gave me no info.

The two smaller pins gave continuity, but the larger 3 did nothing in either position.

Thanks

You should have continuity between two other pins,if you dont the switch is very easy to take part and clean the contacts , I have two switches that showed nothing and after cleaning they work flawlessly. As a note , the female dash plug for the HAZARD switch has the same layout as the FOG plug (different color wires though)

1 and 5, the small tabs, are for the internal light,

2 and 3 are the actual switch.

4 is not used.

Link found on Phil Payne's excellent UrQ technical pages. The fog light wiring is at track 116, it also shows how the factory setup utilizes Fuse #1 and Relay #1 along with rear fog switch wiring (its daisy chained so you can't turn on the rears without the fronts being on). Just be forewarned that the factory setup runs the power directly thru the switches, throw a relay in there and you should be fine. Unlike the nice Bentley diagrams, you have to check an index to figure out what the components are.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jh.666/wiring.html</a
