I know this topic has been touch over and over. I just have two questions. I know the new mirrors
has thermo switches, does it work and at what
degree does it turn on ? The new mirrors with
the switches still doesn't last as long as
having it connected to some button so, you could
turn it on and off. My other questions is, what
happen when your warranty is over ? Did anyone
try having Audi pay for it after the warranty expire? Thanks !

I have the same question. The TSB seems to say that they BEGIN heating at 59 degrees F but that they CONTINUE heating until the outside temperature reaches 77 degrees F. I guess that means they won't come on until it reaches 59; if it's 65, no heated mirrors. It finally got below 59 here so I reached out and felt the driver's mirror (3-month-old Avant) and it was barely warm. Not hot at all.
