View Full Version : What's the torque on the front axle nut?

Trying to take everything apart so I can replace my bad wheel bearing. I can't break torque on the axle nut though. I was using a 6" 3/8 drive extension and I snapped it right off! I sprayed it last night with some penetrating spray. Think I might need to go buy a 1/2" drive extension and a 1/2" breaker bar. :(

Id get a breaker bar and a big ass pipe to put over it, then try. Did this a few weekends ago on a Jetta, worked perfect!

Yeah, I used a 1/2" breaker bar and a 4ft peice of fence tube over that to get them off.

I have to replace CV boots on my 4kq. Having access to a compressor is handy sometimes. Bentley says 203ft/lbs, a 1/2in. drive breaker bar is a must.
