this past weekend i ran into my nextdoor neighbor who's wife owns a 99.5 1.8T. i should actually say, "had owned" until saturday evening.
she was involved a very serious accident while driving through the backroads of jersey to get home from work at around 9pm. she was cut off by another car while at around 50mph. she slammed headfirst into the side concrete divider, then spun out of control about 3 rotations, then her rear end caught the elevated embankment (sp?) on the other side of the road. the car then rolled over and came to a haulting stop wrapped around lamp post.
this could have easily been one of those accidents that people dont survive, but she did. she even got out of the car. she collapsed once she realized what the hell just happened, probably from shock. she still in the hospital recovering two broken fingers, slight concussion, glass cuts, seatbelt and airbag burn as well as minor bumps and bruises.
to have every single airbag in the entire car deploy, to have almost every crumple zone crumpled, and to be able to walk away from the car is amazing.
after her husband told me this story, he thanked me for convincing him and his wife for purchasing their A4 and went back to the hospital to be by her side..
drive carefully everyone.
