we have experienced a renaissance of German cars in the 90's. Audi has brought affordable quality sport driven autos to the masses with the A4. Yes, there are a lot of young adults with A4's, so what, like when you were young, if most of you can remember, you would turn down a new car. These young people will reshape Audi & if Audi doesn't screw it up, they will be paying customers in the future. These young people are also following the tradition of modding what in the past would be, Fords or Chevys & doing it with the A4, more power to them. I have digressed from my original topic, look at the old 3series (E-36) body it a classic German car just like the current A4, they embody all that other car comp. wish they had, souldriven cars, that undefinable things that makes driving these cars FUN.

to keep up with the strong competition from the likes of BMW and Volvo.
The updated 99.5 shows how quickly Audi had to respond once the new 3 series from BMW arrived.

One thing Audi must do is differenciate itself greater from the VW line. A4 sales have been cannalbalized from Jetta and Passat sales. Sure Audi carries a higher image and some technical advantages (quattro) but it also carries a substancially higher price tag.

One more thing. Attention to detail and better customer service (from AOA) will go a long way in
keeping Audi drivers coming back.

Wall Street Journal had an article about the VW/Audi product blending. This may be a mistake on Audi's part. The 1.8T and 2.8 engines should keep the same HP for the VW. Audi should boost them to 180HP for the 4 and 210-225HP for the V6. This would offer the edge for Audi. Honda/Acura does this (e.g. 200HP V6 Accord, 225HP Acura TL).
