Hi all,

Yet another question. Looking for spring suggestions. I know that the blistein sports, boge turbos and H&Rs all lower the ride height a bit. I do autocross, so lower would be nicer... but I also do rallycrosses and my ride height now is good. Lowering of an inch might be ok as long as the springs are strong (ie. my current springs probably allow the car to drop lower during a bump that stronger, shorter spring would).

I've also heard 90Quattro spring raise the height a bit, but are they stiffer? I'd assume if they're made for a 3300lb vehicle (or whatever it is) instead of a 2700lb vehicle that they'll be stiffer for me.

Any suggestions, anyone have anything they're selling?

Thanks,
Chris

The stock 90q springs do add lift, I would not suggest aggressive steat driving on these springs. Too much body roll, but work great on unplowed roads with good winter tires, plus you don't have to worry too much about scrapage.

I really want to see what a 90 set of H&Rs would be like, but there not in the budget anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm back and forth. For the autocross and just driving in general and especially the rally cross stuff, I REALLY want some tighter springs. My suspension movement is pretty absurd right now.

But for snow and ice racing (www.icerace.com), the suptleness of soft springs will be an advantage.

Good thought though, cause the performance 90 ones would lower a 90 but probably not our cars.

They're the same size and mounting and everything?

Thanks again,
Chris

mounting is the same. Probally would want to do upper strut mounts when swapping. I should be putting my 90q springs back on here pretty soon, so i'll get before and after shots along with setting the springs next to each other and measurments.

I too have been pondering the 90q H&Rs for my 4kq. Hoping I might be able to maintain a near-stock height but correct rear sag and gain more agressive springs.

You're running stock 90 springs on your 4kq? And they raise yours about an inch? Any idea how much of this is due to taller springs vs. reduced weight of 4kq?

H&R seems to think that the dimensions of their Sport springs are some great trade secret and wouldn't tell me.

very good questions. Id guestimate that I get 1/2in from the height, and 1/2in from the reduced weight from the 90q springs. I will match up stock 4kq springs, 4kq H&Rs and stock 90q springs this weekend and take pics and measurments.

heres 2 pics of what the 90q springs look like on the car.

I'll see if I anyone on the 80/90 forum knows and let you know if I hear anything.

they have alot of different springs they use, H&R may not be your only choice. Maybe see what height they get from different springs.

say, did you have a chance to measure up those springs of yours?
