Does anyone know for sure what the steering ratio is on their A4 1.8tq sport? The A4.org model guide lists the A4 1.8t steering specification at 16.2:1 ratio, 3.1 turns lock-to-lock. I've seen it listed as 17:1 and 3.1 turns in some magazine tests. However, my car (1998.5) has 2.8 turns, and I measure a ratio of 14.6:1. I have tried to get confirmation from Audi, unsuccessfuly.

BTW, on the S4 window sticker it touts "quick ratio steering" which the Audi website shows as 3.1 turns, 16.2:1 ratio. The TT has 15.6:1, 2.8 turns. I've always felt like the steering on my car was pretty quick-- now I know why!
