I came out of my apartment this morning to find my A4 was damaged by some really bad parker or driver. Not sure exactly how it happened but I was parallel parked with nobody in front of me because there was a driveway there.

Im careful to find 'good' parallel spots since people tend to use bumpers as parking guides around here. People in general are just bad parkers. Ive seen too many bump and parks to count.

So anyway, my driver side corner indicator was smashed with bits all over the road and a dent to my wheel well along with a big scrape along the bumper. Whoever hit me did it pretty hard because the plastic bits of my corner indicator were pretty far from the car when I picked them up.

In any case no matter how hard you try to be good to your car and careful, some stupid irresponsible dishonest and disrespectful person will still get you.

I was hit Friday while at the gas station and the kid took off. I was lucky to get his license plate number and called the police. His dad called last night and the car will be fixed. I couldn't believe he just took off though!

Instead of just a worthless, noisey alarm, there should be a camera system -- activated by impact -- that records the identity of the vandal. Insurance companies would love it; why haven't they developed it?

I've always wondered why they havent taken beeper technology and cell phone technology and put them together to form a system that your car would send a page if your car was 'attacked'.

The technology is there and it could probably be done for cheap.

Or better yet something like a Home Security style monitoring company for your car.
