Just got off the phone with Carlisle. They're doing it differently than they did it last year. Now, the only ones who can pre-order a camping sticker are those on the showfield. This isn't a problem, because that's where we'll be...so that's cool. BUT...they will not give me a block of assigned spots. Apparently they had too much wasted space last year from people reserving blocks and then not utilizing the space. So, it's pretty much first-come, first-serve.

BUT...if we all order our camping stickers (we WILL NOT get assigned #'s like last year), it can still work out. If we all drive over to the camping site at the same time, we will be parked in the order that we drive over there. So, when we're ready to head over, we just make a caravan and we're good to go.

These "new" changes were just voted on by the Carlisle people last night and the website will soon be reflecting it, so check it every once in a while. Oh, you will also be able to order it online this year, whereas last year you had to call to order/pay for your camping spot.

In summary:

1) Wait a couple of days till carsatcarlisle.com is updated.
2) Register for your own camping spot if you want to camp. Order/pay online.
3) Go to Carlisle, have fun.
4) We'll head to the camp site together if we want to stay together. (I hear AudiSport4000 smells...I don't want to shack up anywhere near him!! KIDDING Mikey!! :p )

So that's the word...

Should be worth it this year, with all the other NSU/Audi heritage cars that are supposed to show up. As for us, we're a fun group. Where else can you see someone make burgers using a license plate for a spatula? In spite of the humorous beer references, all attendees last year were well-behaved and good folks.

As for the drive, I drove my '65 F100 to Iowa this past summer for a meet. Takes about 2 days, and you have to pay a lot of tolls, but otherwise isn't bad. Only sucked around Chicago for traffic.

mapquest says:

Total Est. Time: 14 hours, 38 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 960.34 miles

704 of it being on one road: I-80
250 of it being on another: I-76

i could do that in one day, as ive driven to D.C., Vegas, Denver(Breckenridge), and Florida in one day multiple times. (Florida being the worst !! you really need two days for that one)

who else is going that i could meet up with on the way and continue the journey with ? Audisport4000, youre in indianapolis right ?
