Question...
Lot's of talk about timing latley!
I just put a new rebuilt head on my 85 4kq cause the last one ate a valve. (First time thats happend!!) Anyway. I want to make sure I don't @$#% it up some how. I have the flywheel set at TDC (0) and the line on the inside of the cam gear lined up with the valve cover gasket as per my faithful Bentley Manual. But is it possible for the crank to be out of sinc with the cam?
How do I determine if it all set up right.

as for timing check the past posts. i have never heard of that happening to a 4k head befor.

I wouldn't think so. You can only bolt the flywheel up one way to the crank (offset pattern). The cam sprocket is keyed to the cam. I don't think anyone could mess it up.

I've had the timing backwards and "bumped" into a valve while turning it over by hand!!!
