For those interested, the Quattro Club has decided on a date for the 3rd annual
Quattro Club Driver Safety Seminar. It is scheduled for January 15-16, 2000 at the
Thunderhill Park Raceway in Willows CA (about 90 miles north of Sacramento on
Interstate 5). This track is owned by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) and is
very forgiving. What do I mean when a say forgiving? I mean that there is tons of room
on the track to correct for any errors you do...I mean that there are no tire walls to real
walls to hit....just dirt and grass. I personally have gone the last two years in my A4 and
plan to go in my S4 (if it gets here in time) in January 2000.
The price will be comparable to last year...probably about $300-325 for the two days.
This also includes an event t-shirt and dinner on Saturday night.
You must be a Quattro Club member to join ($40/year) but you don't have to own a
quattro to join or participate. Several people in the past have brought other cars to the
event..including Porsches and BMWs.
Most of us will be staying at the Best Western Golden Pheasant Inn in Willows on
Friday and Saturday night (about $65-85/night depending on room and occupancy).
We usually double up with friends to keep the costs down.
