Just replace the filter. You know hot it
can get under the hood, well, if you get one of
those kits that give you an underhood cone filter
your turbo will be sucking down that high temp
air (not cool, literally!), instead of the cool
air it is sucking in through the grill (and
it will be quieter, too!)...word to your mother...

The stock air box has a pretty efficient design, including an air duct to the front of the car. A conical filter would simply suck in hot underhood temperatures, figuring the turbo is right there as well.

there's a product called a ramair filter,
but that's as much as I know...sorry.
