View Full Version : Best intake system for a 1.8t? Mike 10-30-1999, 12:41 PM Al 10-30-1999, 12:45 PM Just replace the filter. You know hot it can get under the hood, well, if you get one of those kits that give you an underhood cone filter your turbo will be sucking down that high temp air (not cool, literally!), instead of the cool air it is sucking in through the grill (and it will be quieter, too!)...word to your mother... mike 10-30-1999, 01:14 PM I can appreciate what you said about keeping it quiet James R. 10-30-1999, 01:29 PM . mike 10-30-1999, 01:31 PM Mike M. 10-30-1999, 01:49 PM The stock air box has a pretty efficient design, including an air duct to the front of the car. A conical filter would simply suck in hot underhood temperatures, figuring the turbo is right there as well. Al 10-30-1999, 03:52 PM there's a product called a ramair filter, but that's as much as I know...sorry. |
