1. Let it catch fire.
2. Yank out and stomp on said stereo till it stops smoldering.
The stereo in my Mercedes started to smoke on Saturday, so I immediately yanked it out of the dash and threw it on the ground where I stomped it to death till it stopped. Good thing I caught it before the whole car went up. Apparently, it was improperly installed to where all manner of 15 years worth of dirt got into the thing and it shorted out.
So, I pulled the ancient Alpine system out of my 4KS, put it into the Merc, and now my 4KS has a new top of the line Aiwa Satellite System! That Mercedes 190 is turning into a small blessing!
