keeping with the survey theme, I thought I'd start a thread for favorite tunes while driving your Audi. Mine is Don Henley's "Boys of summer". From 1984 - same year I bought my 4KQ. Sun roof open, radio on max driving down the Pacific Coast Highway.... mmmmm.

Hmm, I have a couple for that.

1) Golden Earings Radar Love. It has a great beat that just makes you want to put your foot down!

2) I cant Drive 55 is also a good one. Just because I cant! :)

...but my current favorite is probably Black Shuck by The Darkness. Great new band, great new album! If not that, I'll usually listen to the guitar stylings of Randy Rhoads.

Honestly, my friend made me listen to the Thing Called Love Song and we couldn't stop laughing and making fun of those crazies...it's so...catchy. I hate to admit it, but I like them...but it did start off as a joke!

I tend to listen to a lot of radio in my 4kq. But sometimes I get crazy with my OEM cassette deck and bust out a "mix tape" (yeah, so 80's) or two of Phish, Bob Marley, the Dead, DMB, Stones, the Boss, etc. I'm not too picky. :)

p.s. Max...I only have the Darkness on CD, so I have to listen to that in my other car. ;)

That song gets played every few minutes on the radio over here(UK). Getting a bit sick of it! :-)

I've got Garbage Ver2.0 in the Audi at the moment. Old album but it rocks!

Ive got a small 80's mix in my cd player now. A bit of Tears for Fears is what I was listening too today. I love listening to the 80's stuff in the 80's car.
Oasis is another fave, along with some hip hop, maybe 1% country, alot of mainstream stuff.

Man can she belt it out! I have her first album on CD, and it got me through a 350 mile drive in a snow/ice storm last month. Song 13 starts out with "I left a man asleep in the nude....."

mostly rock i suppose, (old)soundgarden, offspring, etc. love the 80s, i can do billy joel and phil collins too(thanks mom, thats all that played in the car growin up).. when i got the car there was lots of house, trance and drum n bass.. plenty of spanish stuff too, especially doing the 5mph cruise through the ghetto.. oh yeah, thats heaven right there.. classic rock is definitely on the list, so is a little rap and a pinch of bad religion here and there. really, i dont like classical, r&b and real hard rap. anything else is likely to be heard from my speakers at any given time.

I start every day with a good cup of coffee and Slipknot's Iowa. You find me a better legal way to get rolling in the morning. The rest of my playlist...

God Forbid - Determination, Better Days

In Flames - Colony, Reroute to Remain(buy this
album if you're into heavy music)

Metallica - Various. The only ones I don't have are Kill 'em all, Reload and St. Anger(ugh).

Barenaked Ladies - Stunt, Greatest hits.

Steve Vai - Fire Garden, Ultra Zone, Passion and Warfare, the anthology

Those are the ones that get the heaviest rotation. I also Listen to Jack Johnson, Chet Atkins, Metal for the Masses(vol. II), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Rancid, Type O Negative, Brian Setzer, Bach, John Coltrane, and a few others.

these CD's have any song that sounds like or makes the driver drive fast. Songs can be anything from Van Halen To Dr Dre to Chemical Bros to Soul Coughing to Cake. Techno seems to be the majority of the songs because you feel like your in a Playstation driving game. Frank Sinatra and some Johnny Cash have even made the cut on some CD's. Me personally Matthew Sweet, N.E.R.D., Rage against the Machine, Audioslave, Anything 80's, RUN DMC and Beistie Boys ride in the Urq. Mostly Led Zepplin an other classic rock bands in the 5k.

If I buy the Urs4 from my Dad I'll christen it with DR Dre's Chronic album and some NWA seeing the Bose system cranks and has plenty of base in that car.

...with my 5.0lt full of half naked girl's and Don Henley's boy's of summer cranked back in `86. Oh yeah Hampton Beach had a 4000q police car back then as well. I think someone posted a pic. Damn good times.

But I change what I listen to everyday. I like to listen to mellow stuff in the morning and at night, like Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Coldplay, Phish and more rock music like the White Stripes, and Hot Hot Heat, Transplants or rap like J5, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest and the Beastie Boys (Paul's Boutique is awesome to drive to) in the day time. But really I can listen to anything.

most of the time i'd put in "dear catastrophe waitress" by belle and sebastian. if i'm driving like a maniac, i go for something like glassjaw.
however, i found recently i've been listening to interpol and the promise ring very much in the 90q.
