I just got off the phone with the parts guy (Paul)at Rockville Porsche/Audi, and he told me that new sport springs that lower your car 25 - 35 mm , have just become available from Audi starting this week!! These are Original Equipment Audi approved aftermarket springs that you can order through your dealer! They cost $325 for the set (Paul quoted me that) + labor . He said that this is now the best way to go rather than other aftermarket springs since with these OE ones, they can't void your warranty for making an aftermarket mod to your car. That's the advantage of these. And they work on ALL Audi's according to him: a4, a6, a8, etc. Apparently Audi just came out with this product this week. Way to go Audi for finally addressing the needs of your performance oriented customers!! I'm getting a set ASAP.

I also asked about moving upto more sporty shocks with the new springs, but Paul (Rockville Audi Parts Man), he said that you don't have to, and that even the shocks that come with the non-sport suspensions are fine. He said that getting more sporty shocks was really overkill. And then we're also dealing with Ausi warranty issues. However, it DOES depend on your application. If you want to get on the track, then you might want to get better shocks, but then, you also might want to get Race springs that REALLY lower the car rather than the sport springs that Audi is now offering. IMHO, I would agree with Paul, that you really don't need to switch the shocks if all your looking for is just a better look, with overall better handling.

I THINK he mentioned that these will lower the car further than the sport suspension, but don't quote me on that. I don't have a sport suspension on mine, so I didn't ask him about that issue. But remember: a stock sport suspension only lowers the car 20 mm more than the stock regular suspension, and Paul told me that these new ones lower the car 25 to 35 mm . That's definitely more.

25-35 or whatever these new oem's are still leaves quite a bit of wheel gap....
Also, if you supposedly don't have to change the shocks I suspect that these springs do nothing for the car performance wise, other than lowering the center of gravity a little...if they had higher spring rates like a sport or race spring, they would need a better shock...just my guess...

the A4s sport pkg sold in the UK. They announced a new sport pkg in Car magazine earlier this year, I think. From what I recall, it lowers the car 35mm altogether, additional 15mm on the OEM sport.

#1) Audi has approved new sport springs for all Audi models that lower from 25-35 mm from stock height.
#2) According to Audi literature, the A4 sport package lowers the car by 20 mm from stock height.
#3) Eibach Pro-Kit springs are essentially identical to the new Audi OEM springs.
#4) Eibach Pro-Kit springs are advertised to lower a car by 1.4" which is roughly 35.5 mm.
#5) Audi OEM springs are $325 and you keep your warranty. Eibach Pro-Kit springs cost about $50 less but it may hurt your warranty.
#6) All Audi A4 shocks including non-sport package shocks are compatible with these lowered springs.
Geez, if this is truly the case I'm going to go get some $190 Neuspeed sport springs. Good or bad idea?

I've put on 25,000 miles with Eibach springs with the stock shocks and have had no problem, yet.
However, I'm a pretty easy on the car (no auto cross for me).
