it still sounds like my rear diff thumps, its very loud now that the rear seat is out. so when i pulled into my house i jacked up the rear and took a quick peek. everything looks fine, nothings loose and the mounts are brand new. im going out now to double check the tightness on every bolt in the subframe, diff, control arms, etc. its getting so bad now that my car kinda bucks back and forth in 1st and 2nd. am i missing something?? maybe somethings loose. i hope so bc this thumping is way outta control.

apparently when i did the diff mounts, oh 50 years ago, i didnt torque one of the subframe bolts enough and it had come kinda loose. so i tightened it down, checked the rest and took it for a spin... wow! i still have the shuddering/ bucking in 1st and 2nd but its very mild, probably the engine mounts. i guess those are next on the list!
