View Full Version : how involved is changin the timing belt on a 4000? Couper 03-06-2003, 01:27 PM how long would it take a person who is a novice? i have a manual and all that? but i was looking at getting a 4000 also but it blew the timing belt any suggestions?? Tylerb929 03-06-2003, 02:11 PM I'd guess 2-3 hours, its really not that hard. You could probably do it quicker if you rushed, but whats the point? Couper 03-06-2003, 02:32 PM see i am looking at getting a 4000Q and it needs a new timing belt, so i was wondering if it was worth it to get hte car and fix the belt my self or just forget the whole thing. CGTBrad 03-06-2003, 03:44 PM I rented mine from Blau. They give you a good deal on the tools if you buy the belt from them. Not to bad of a job other than the tight space. gmbchef 03-06-2003, 03:59 PM It doesn't have the aux. radiator to make life difficult.
