I just had my 7500 done, and with it I asked them to recode my central locking, they are asking me to sign some papers saying that my warranty is voided on the central locking system. Did others have to do this who recoded???

Here's the link for Audi's Technical Service Bulletins.

I picked up my car and ended up paying for the labor required to reprogram my central locking. Here's why they win:

The TSB that Rodney referred to only covers the optional coding change 16140->16172. That is the addition of auto-lock/unlock. I asked them to add window control and remove safety locking -- this is code 16232. Refer to A4.org FAQ on these other features (http://www.a4.org/faq/faq_elec/a4program.shtml).

Anyways, they say AoA doesn't support these ("Europe-only") coding configs and therefore this procedure can't be under warranty as the TSB describes. I was greedy. But it was only 28 bucks. And it's the way I want it now, so all's good in my book...

My dealer (Braman Motors in West Palm Beach, FL)charged me $40 to recode my 98.5 A4, enabling one-touch unlock, auto-lock @15 mph, auto-unlock when key removed and silent remote locking. They did not mention any warranty issues, and were familiar with the procedure.
