Im going to try again and retrofit and make a set for the 4kq. But, the only problem Im going to run into is installation. is there a "trick" in getting the speedo/tach needles off? I dont have any spare quattro clusters, so Id like to do this right the first time. Any BTDT? The gauges are coming along nicely, they will be in Kilometers though! I also have put reference to the 4000CS quattro on both the tach and speedo ;)
Oh, and Im just doing round gauges this time, instead of making the entire square part the white piece, the round looks alot better!
Help is much needed here.
TIA

If I can remember where i'll post it, maybe someone else will have their memory twigged from what i describe
someone has a site and they ahve a template for guages you can print and will fit our cars and they described how to pull the needles,, just can't remember where it at the moment.

Is from Daniel Olovsson's site. He has templates ready to download, but being overseas, somethings are different. There is an "econ" gauge instead of the "temp" gauge, and the tach represents the pre 85 style, kilometers are used as well for the speedo. But, I just DLed the templates for tach and speedo for now, not quite sure what kind of paper to use.
I encourage everyone to look at his site, there are alot of interesting Audi's lurking overseas!
First, use a salad fork to remove the needles. Remove your faces and scan them to disk, then make the color scheme you want with photoshop, and when you're done, print them onto sticker paper, and voila! White gauges. This is, of course, assuming you have/know someone who has photoshop, a scanner, and sticker stock to print on.

its http://www.audivorsprung.com/
oops I see someone beat me too it.
BTW the guages will be metric units. No big deal in Canada, but might matter to our american friends.

I tried it before I had gotten good at using Photochop, I got too frustrated and gave up.
Im going to NOT use the ones from Daniels site for a couple reasons. One, trip computer, I kinda neglected to think about it, and I need a tach with it in order for the gauges to work.
Two, Id rather have MPH in the 4kq, the 4k already has a canadian cluster with KM's, I dont need another. But, that guy in town is going to part out his 4kq comm since nobody wants it. Im gonna snag the reflectors, cluster, maybe door panels and all the badging. Hopefully he wont be an a$$ about all of this, he wanted me to part it out anyways. But, I guess its gonna take longer than expected, oh well.

VERY interesting site. I'm getting some inspiration about painting and doing something unusual with mine.
