Do the 86 4000CSq's have a clutch slave in them, or are they acuated by a cable, maybe if its cable, ill try to adjust it.

The slave is right on top of the tranny and is hard to get to. One thing I will say is my clutch pedal was 'sticking' where it wouldn't return sometimes, and turns out the fluid had about 180k miles on it and needed a change in a bad way. If you need to adjust the engagement point for the pedal, go get a crows foot wrench with extension bar and loosen the locknut then turn the adjustment rod in/out as needed.

My problem with the clutch is that it slips, mainily in first gear. The shifter is also hard to shift into almost all the gears now, its really hard to shift into 1,2&R. The point at which the clutch releases is pretty close to the floor, which leads me to think its worn. Not sure what I can do at this point, clutches are expensive, and the car has many other problems.

The adjustment is with the pedal, where it connects to the clutch master cylinder rod. If you do adjust it, try turning the bracket 1-2 threads at a time.
