I always thought the 99.5 A4 1.8T do not come with power seats. Power seats are only available on the 2.8.
Well, take a look at this options list for a 1999.5 A4 1.8T Quattro:
Options Included
-------------------
AUDIO PACKAGE
ALL WEATHER PACKAGE
TRIP COMPUTER/AUTO CHECK SYS
SPORT PACKAGE
QUATTRO ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYS
FRONT SPORT SEATS
CLOTH SEAT UPHOLSTERY
POWER GLASS SUNROOF
AMBITION ATMOSPHERE
10 WAY DUAL POWER FRONT SEATS
not in a A4 1.8T

This really burns me! 30k car and just cause they want to 'preserve' market share for the 2.8 you can only get pleather or cloth.

The list is sorta in the order that the options appear on the sticker, but it's not worded exactly the same.
My theory--an "Audi brand specialist" who doesn't know his product saw the power lumbar adjustment button on the side of the sport seats and is mistaking them for the 2.8's power seats.
I ordered an A4 Avant from a German dealer while I was stationed in Italy this summer. The order acceptance listed the 10 way dual power seats, but the car did not have them when it arrived. I have been in contact with the dealer (AutoExchange), who has contacted Audi. Power seats were added to the A4 2.8 as part of the mid-year enhancements. Apparently the computer that generated the options list did not differentiate between the 2.8 and 1.8T.
Sorry to cut this short -- I'm being called away

I am still puzzled by this "10 WAY DUAL POWER FRONT SEATS" -- clearly stated on all models of A4 1.8T. This information is deceiving because it is totally NOT true.
Only the A4 2.8 come with power seats.
