The ps pump on my 87 2.2l 5cyl makes a weird singing noise at some lower rpms (it varies from day to day)that seems to dissappear above 2000 rpm. Does this mean i should hunt down a new one as it will barf soon or will it last for a while yet. (60k kms and 14 years on pump). Thanks for any info. tom

Does it do it when you turn...could be a loose belt.

I pulled the belt last night and there is play in all directions in the pully. damn these things are expensive.

I've picked up a used one to keep the car running for now but does anyone know where to get a rebuild(bearing and seal)kit for this. The haynes manual shows the instructions for the rebuild but where to procure the parts? Any help is, again, appreciated. t
