bore out a throttle body and enlarge the throttle plates? Miktip, can I just send it to you? Need any parts? :-)

Certain year TB's are very limited on how big you can go! I've had to add material to the outside, because the bore actually breaks through!
Butterfly's are usually limited to 2mm larger.

I have a few tricks I do to TB's to make the primary(larger) butterfly open sooner. Gives a very noticable improvement in throttle response!

Maybe we can work out some sort of deal?

Is this a trade secret or can you share ;)

Basically the smaller butterfly would open almost
90%+ before the larger butterfly would even crack
open. I modified the linkage's to allow the larger to open sooner. Its something you have to play around with per engine, rpms, and powerband.
On my 86 CGT it made a very noticable improvement
in acceleration! Especially above 2500 rpms.

I cannot imagine that the 5000 throttle body can be much different than a CGT? Maybe? I know nothing about drilling out TB's as you can tell:)LMK what you think MikTip...thanks.

I understand the concept.
Now, at what point are you having that 2nd butterfly open? Half the opening of the primary, 3/4, ???
Looking for a starting point here. Gas mileage be damned!
Of course, at Summit Point yesterday it was WOT most all the time, so this mod may mean little except for on the street.
