Has anyone installed a turbo timer on their car without affecting the factory alarm?
Try to ask couple of shops around here but none of them will do it on Audi......
Thanks

serious, just take the last mile of your trip easy (a couple of minutes). It is much better than idling your car a couple of minutes.

Hi,
I'm in the bay area and have a timer, BUT...i also got an aftermarket alarm which works with the factory alarm. Factory alarm doesn't arm when the timer is used - when i don't use the timer, factory alarm can arm with the other one.
The installation of the timer itself is not difficult - its finding a way to work with the factory alarm that's tricky. Someone (jasyn?) posted a few days ago that his installer managed to get it done. I think he's in california somewhere - search back a few pages and you might find his posts.
The timer is just a nice convenience - i usually take the last stretch of my trips easy and run the timer for maybe 30 seconds or something. If I'm in a rush and didn't have time to drive it easy, then maybe 1-2 mins...so...the timer isn't absolutely necessary if you take care of your car...

if you are on freeway, just step off the gas early enough to ease out the ramp. If on streets, just use as little gas as possible to move forward. When got to the parking lot, idle cruise to your spot for the last few hundred feet. simple.
