without pouring gas on it and setting it on fire. One problem after another i am so fed up with this car. ANY who i hooked the battery charger to the car all last night charged it up came home went into the garage where it was parked all day and the battery is dead again. NOTHING was left on. So then when i turn the key nothing happens not even a noise. Just had the started replaced 2 weeks ago with a NEW one. when i turn the key all the way it shuts off the heater but that is all. can someone help me before i get more pissed off and take a hammer to it. p.s. i do love the car when it runs good. but that was so long ago i forgot

take it to the shop have them find everything wrong then get a loan for the amount of the repair bill then tell you all the fun stories of me and my fixed up v8.

1) Starter wireing....since your mech was in there.
2) Alt.....could have a faulty alt, or a bad voltage regulator inside the alt.
3) Ignition switch could be bad.

open up fuse box, pull fuse by fuse and attach your multimeter in its ammeter setting in place of the fuse and figure out which circuit is drawing power. Some circuits may draw a tiny bit of power, but if its draining that quick you'll know which one it is. I'd bet its a defective starter or alternator though. If you have ammeter that can support large enough draws you can check to see if your starter is drawing a bunch of power with the car off by put putting the meter in line with the starter.

Gently tap on it with a small hammer to see if you can get it to start working.

Also check the cables that go there. Someone on AW here has a nasty picture of corroded cables.

hooking jumper cables to it(12v to big wire, and black to engine block), and applying 12v to the small wiring going to the starter, if its good it will spin. If it spins, but wont spin when turning the key you probably have badly corroded wires somewhere or a bad ign switch. Obviously be careful if you are putting power to the starter manually like that!
