Installed a new relay for the A/C compressor clutch. Bentley's is completly off on their location of the realys inside the car on the aux relay panel. The book says that the relay is in the #4 slot but this is not true, it is in the #1 slot. I believe the stereo relay is in the #4 slot. Had to feel around relays to find out which one was clicking and check relay part numbers to find the right one.
On a bright note, Scott at SJM is fabbing the relay diode jumpers that Audi was offering for ovewr $100 at about 1/4 the cost. Well worth it to put a back up diode into the car to make the relay last. They work great and take no time to install.
I am parring down the shopping list of issues with this car and only have a driver's seat heater to make work, a windshield wiper switch to replace to get the hi speed, a ash tray light to add, a carbon canister valve/solenoid to add and finally a peice of leather to fix on the drivers seat. I also gotta have one of those Momo flat bottom steering wheels and to get rid of that Airbag and its itiot light like Chad T's.
After these it's to Turbo (3107 R1) or not to Turbo....or just to chip or not to chip. Then it's to the paint booth and detail shop.
Glad I got my A/C working for the fall season ;=D<ul><li><a href="http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/elec.html#click">http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/elec.html#click</a</li></ul>
