Hello!
My name is Patrick. I live in the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan.
I'm soon to own a Audi A4 1.8T Quattro/Santorin Blue mica. (1 month away!) I would like to know if I can get the wood trim that is in the 2.8 version--anyone know anything? Also, I would like to know about changing the chip, as well as the air filter and the exhaust. Please, if you can give a trustworthy source for these items! Also, If anyone can give me some of their thoughts on how to properly "break in" this beauty, please E-mail me with any suggestions. I'm also interested in upgrading the concert stereo--anyone done this? I have many other questions and concern, but I'll try to not flood you with all of this i just can't wait to get this car--but i'll have to!
Thanks to all who respond!!!
~~PATRICK~~

Wilkommen to the A4 brotherhood. Regarding the aftermarket wood trim kit, someone posted a rather detailed set of instruction with photos within the past month. A check the recent archives should set you straight.
I have the 2.8 30V, so I can't be of much help regarding chipping. The recommended break-in time is the same for both engines: keep it under 4,000 rpm for the first 1,000 miles or so and vary the engine speed. After that, have fun!

I currently own a 98.5 1.8TQM Sport, and I am planning on upgrading with the Wetterauer 1.0 chip, which reportedly gives it more zip without placing stress on the engine that robs us of sleep at night. Incidentally, the santorin blue mica (which I have) is a beautiful, understated, color, that brightens in certain light. Wait til you see it. Give yourself some time to get aquainted with your A4 1.8 before messing around with it. You'll be surprised how well thought out it is straight out of the box. I find that the engine has developed more pep since it started, and my interest in the Wett chip is more out of greed than need.
