I've just been offered a sweet deal on a 1990 V8. Again pearl white. Over $12,000 USD of work done in the last 10,000 miles. Includes:

New heater core
New heater blower
Change AC over to 134a
New battery
New hood struts
New windshield washer pump
New 17" Audi Chrome wheels with tires
New Repaint (which needs to be buff out more, It's a OK paint job)Car was 99% rust free before paint job.
New re-built Transmission with cooler (10 miles on it)
Serviced Transmission shop replaced the starter. It had a new one in it?
New brakes (front rotors where replaced)
New complete front bumper (worries me a little).
New tires on factory aluminum rims.
Complete tune up

And then I am told:

"There was more because the bill for the work my boss had came to oh most $5000. But he didn't keep the bill.

All the windows work, but two of them need new switches, I have the new switches. Sunroof works Seats work, plus heaters All lights work plus gauges. No warning lights on. Power mirrors work. Runs perfect!! Has a nice alpine stereo in it.

Needs to have oil lines from engine to cooler replaced in the near future. Air worked great until I took it over to have the trans. Fixed. I will try to recharge it. The cruise when real cold out would be slow, but otherwise works great the last time I used it. There is only 61,000 actual miles on this car! There is more I know? I will think of it later."

Can anyone tell me why I should not buy this car? For what price you ask? $3,000 USD. Oh man.

Quit hoarding all the V8's. You can only drive one car at a time. Let someone else have some fun.

You seems to be getting into a rut with the V8's. Maybe you should try something topless? LOL :-P

What about the timing belt? It's due now. Maybe $700 parts. Twice that if you can't do the work yourself.

I'd want to know why the new front bumper unless the old one was torn up from running into parking blocks, etc. Then I'd want to know the oil cooler was OK.

Does it have the belly pan?

I have not yet seen the car so I don't know about the belly pan. The one on my car was obviously not installed correctly because it folded off on the highway and got dragged home. What a drag.

I think the reciept his boss can't find was for the timing belt. I asked about that and his boss told him done. It should be good for quite some time then.

He does mention the oil cooler lines may be weak. No biggie since I have 2 parts cars... lol.

Don't know anything about the V8's. Is this normal? Or maybe was doing a lot of brake stands/drag racing:-)

I'm going to look into installing a pressure warning switch on that line!
