Had I known we were going to post V8's with 18's, I would have thrown my hat into the ring a long time ago. :-) The car is my wife's 91' 5 speed, with CAC smoked front's and rear's and smoked fender markers from Blau. The wheels are 18x9 Enkei LM1's with 245/40 rubber. I am VERY pleased with the way it turned out. Window's get tinted next week and hopefully a CAC Evo spolier soon....please.

Pics are pretty low res., but it's all I got.

I've always liked the V8 bodystyle.....unfourtunatly I'm too deep into the 5000 to ever start a v8 project. Maybe after college and I become a millionare.

would stop posting these beautiful pictures of V8's!!! It's making me want to start shopping for one again as that's what I originally wanted. My 5K is mint but now that it's all said and done I wish I had spent all this time and $$ on making a V8 perfect. <<Sigh>>

...I ran 17's on the car for several years and swore that I would never go to 18's because of the dirt road we live on. Well, Discount Tire ran the wheels through in an Ebay auction and the price was so low, I had to do it. Otherwise, I'd be running 17's too.

As for H/L wiper trim, the Pearl was so beat up that I just thought I would give Black a try. I kinda like it. It seems to "Frame" the headlights out nicely. I'll probably go back to Pearl at some point though....maybe when I paint my Evo rear spoiler......damn it, when are those things going to be done!!!

I don't use it for a daily driver. A V8 5spd is the next best thing! I looked at a 91 V8 5spd in Iowa a few years ago and tried to buy it but we couldn't come to terms. I still made an offer but wouldn't go any higher as the car needed lot's of reconditioning and had a bad Carfax report. I probably should have bought it anyway since they are so rare but apparently I was in a stubborn mood that day. To this day I always think how nice the V8 would look next to the GTS in the garage. It's a good thing my 5K doesn't have Internet access, she'd be really upset reading this!

it wouldn't happen to be Maritime Blue would it? My first drive in a GTS was a Maritime Blue 5 speed and I wanted it in the worst way! I have never seen another one like it. I still do a regular search for GTS's on Ebay, just to dream.....so, wanna swap? :-)

I have tried to talk the wife into something other than the V8 as recently as last month, but she loves the car and sees no need for something else. Who am I to argue?! It is a great daily driver, but at 8500ft above sea level, a stock 10vt 5k/200 will walk it. She doesn't care though, it looks good and it sounds good, and she drives the speed limit everywhere she goes.

I bought mine used, from a family friend. 93's-95's usually don't make the open market as they tend to trade hands privately. Actually I think it is Maritime blue but I'm not 100%. I haven't talked 928 colors in a long while. I'll have to check the sticker. It's a bluish/silverish color. It looks like the one on the cover of 928 international's catalog a few years ago. (Not that anyone but me would remember or know that)

It's almost the same color as my 5K which Audi calls "Sapphire".

I look at them on Ebay also. I can't believe some of the junk I see for sale. If your ever in the market for one do tons of research and be careful of the one you buy. It's sad to see but many of the older one's have fallen into hands of people who don't have the means to properly maintain the car and they go into a state of disrepair and get truly molested. Very sad. Before this one I had an 86 928S4 5spd that was black on black. I sold that car in 9 days! Stay away from the 16V's only go for the 32V's.

Actually, Maritime Blue is the color Audi borrowed for the RS2 and called it "RS" Blue. So, the color you are describing sounds a little too light to be Maritime. Maritime is a nice "Rich" blue with, what appears to be, a yellow pearl in the clear coat. Down right spectacular! A quick Google got me the link below.

I have been around a fair share of 928's and I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't buy one unless it was a GTS, let alone a 32v car. I like 928's, but it would have to be pretty special for me to actually own one, hence my attraction to the GTS's.

Maritime Blue 964

I did see the update, but now I am just in the waiting mode. Life's hard you know: you go from a mode where you think you'll never have one, to seeing pictures of one and then being told that you can actually have one....but not yet, you have to wait. I'll get over it, but it's going to be hard. :-)

I am on your list of people that just, flat out, wants one.

I believe that is a rare color on a 928. I think they only offered that color on the GTS's (93-95). I've actually never even seen one in person in that color. Smart choice to only go with a GTS. Feel free to email me if you ever come across one and need advice.

Nice car. Chipped and a hi-po exhaust on it. The car would rocket forward but wouldn't feel like it. Somehow it didn't shove me back in my seat like FrankenAudi did. Anyway, I was nearly going to buy it but I just couldn't justify that much money on a car of that age. Toss $20 large at a typ 44 and you'd have a missile!

If I get another shot at a 1967 911S I'll jump at it though. Those cars are awesome fun! With an MSD ignition and a pair of K&Ns in that 2.0L I kept neck and neck with a new 1.8T Golf that was chipped and had exhaust work. Not bad for a car that was 36 years old at the time! The tough part will be saving up for the gas station!

<edit> Oh... and I almost forgot... yea... the GTS version is a beauty. Loads of power and definitely the best Bahn blaster out there in it's day of sport touring IMHO. </edit>

Maritime Blue = That's what we used to call "Polock Blue".

No disrespect intended.

we were both trying to sell our cars at the same time last year (ours had S8 wheels on it at the time) and we both still have them. Maybe not "sad", but strange.

Why is that?

super sharp!!!! man do i want to lower mine now!! what shock and spring set up are you using? any probs with 245's? my 235's just fit (little rubbing on full turn )
i didnt think i would like the 5 spoke look but after your pics...i do like !!
When its time for a repaint look into painting the lower black white... will give the car an even lower look. also what other mods have you on her?

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I didn't see your response untill today....

Thanks for the kind words about the car. I REALLY like the 5 spoke wheels. Nice and simple and easy to clean.

The car has Bilstein's and H&R's. No problems at all with the 245's (no rubbing at all). I thought that the 9in wheels might be a problem too, but with the 35mm offset, they could really use some spacers or wider rubber. They are tucked inside the bodywork just a little too much for my taste. Some 10mm spacers would be perfect.

Other mods are 4.2l front sway bar, IA Chip and euro lights.
