Any installation tips?
I got the areo foot kit.
The A4 feet
2 velo-vise fork mounts
2 wheel holders
6 lock kit
and the faring.
I want to set up the fairing so it doesn't touch the paint, just the glass. I realize that it's not rocket science, but does Anyone have experience with this set.
And if anyone remembers, I used to have a Saris Roof rack, but I got rid of it. The brackets were too thick and began to damage my one week old window moldings.

Rich W's 99.5 1.8TQMS

Rich-
If you haven't put the bars on the top yet make sure the brakets (fit kits) are in the correct locations. I made the mistake of thinking they were all the same and had to change things around when the doors wouoldn't close correctly (it probaby would have helped if I did it during the day).
As far the fairing goes, I set it up with it resting on the roof as I think it looks better and if I tried to slide the fairing brackets all the way forward it would vibrate a little too much especially with the sunroof open.
FWIW, I was running the wheel holders but took them off after I had a couple "runaway" wheels. It's pretty tough to get them on the back bar as well. Now I just toss the wheels in the trunk.

Don,
I've had a Thule for four years and just love it. I HATE the wailing it does of about 50mph. It whisltes like a banchee. Does the faring help with the wind noise? I can't keep my sunroof open its so loud.
Thanks!

Make sure you attach the feet where the arrows are inside the windowsills.
Clean the roof before mounting racks. If you mount on a dirty roof, the dirt will get ground into your paint.
TAKE YOUR BIKE OFF THE ROOF BEFORE YOU ENTER YOUR GARAGE!!!! That may seem obvious, but sooner or later it's easy to forget.
My little oops! involved my custom Medici road bike. Bent the fork, scratched the top tube, bent the rack, scratched the roof and bent the chrome strips on the roof.
I've had the same set of Thules since 1990, on the 6th Audi since then. They're bulletproof.

I got the stuff at my local Bike Shop
Yeah, I think the fairing helps a lot especially with the sunroof open. I travel 30 miles each way to work and have the sunroof open all the time - even when it's cooler (40 degrees). I average about 70-80 mph and the wind noise is not bad at all and there isn't any "whistling".
I had to take my the fairing off of my wife's Jeep GC to put on the Thule box for a road trip. I haven't had a chance to put the fairing back on and it now has a noticable whistle even when driving around town.
For the $50, they work well.

foot into the paint. I even waxed the crap out of it beforehand. Pissed me off no end. You can't see it in sunlight thankfully. The fairing will not reach the glass, at maximum extent it is right at the edge. I forsee some paint markings there too so I never put mine on. Without the fairing the whistling will drive you crazy.
