It's a pretty good condition avant. Red on black, no rust. Has about 175K miles. Typical electrical quirks, but pulls full boost. I know its a vague question...but does anybody know what these are worth?

That's Canadian too, you being in Ontario means she's got a lot of salty winters under the belt, galvanised body or not it won't be fun turning wrenches on all them rusted fasteners.
How's the center driveshaft support?

The car needs to be inspected for now. But from what I'm told, the car has no mechanical issues except for an overheating problem, and an alignment issue (probably camber links/adjusters).
I'll have to take a good look at it...but if it's not in overall decent condition, I might consider parting it out if there's an interest in anything from it. If it's good to go, I'll fix whatever it needs and might resell it...I'm doing a favor for a friend.

That alignment stuff you can cure without to much effort and expense, could be anything from tires all the way on up, get it on a hoist and start digging. How long has the car been sitting for?
Coolant flush, new T-stat and possibly a new waterpump will cost you less than a hundy if you do it yourself. If everything else is fine you might have a great driver or beater for the winter. Tough to find an AWD wagon for such small money.

Ya, the alignment I'll have to figure out for sure. Car has been sitting for 6 weeks...so not too bad. Coolant flush, t-stat...easy stuff...ya the timing belt service I'll look into....the current owner believes it was done but for me, a receipt/paperwork is the only thing that I'll go by.
I may be able to pick this car up cheap, that's why I'm so interested in it....the owner is somewhat oblivious when it comes to Audi maintenance, which is a plus for us in these situations! :-)
Unfortunately for me, I use my V8 all year round, but I also have a '97 Passat TDI to get me around when the V8 gets cranky like it is now (needs p/s hoses, radiator).
So my options on this car are a resell or part it out. Again, depends on what kind of demand I get.

Check the radiator fan to see if it comes on. Should come on if the AC is working. If it doesn't check to see if the fan is frozen. If that is Ok then check to see if there is power going to the fan motor. If not then check to see if the big fan resistor is blown.
