My friend has a new Honda SI. Last weekend all 4 stock tires/wheels were stolen from his car right in front his apartment complex. I know that Audi wheels are not the best looking stocks, but has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

A few months ago, my dad's '96 Eldorado Touring Coupe (black in color with the fake ragtop, gold trim everywhere and shiny chrome wheels -- with the Cadillac custom "Vogue" tires -- I also now sometimes call it the Pimple as in short for Pimpmobile) was left up on blocks in the front driveway of his home in the Memorial area of Houston (very nice part of town) -- his home even has high visibility in his front yard because his home is located on a major cross-street through Memorial.

I laughed my ass off. I was in disbelief when he (he being a 52-year old extremely conservative attorney that has previously owned 2 red Jaguar XJ-S's but had to spend $12k in maintenance on them in 6 years) bought that car (and had the gold trim and chrome wheels added), but that made no real difference to him since he was so happy with how much he paid ($26k when it was 1.5 years old with 26k miles -- can you believe how fast an American car depreciates?) and he can't believe how much all of the nice cars cost now.

The night before my first day of work at my first job out of college, someone stole a 4 wheels off my VW GTI. I came out in the morning, already a bit nervous and stressed, dressed nicely, with a sense of anticipation. I came around the corner at the apartment complex, and thought I might have had a flat tire because the corner of the car that I could see seemed a bit low. Upon rounding the corner, I could see that the whole car was just lying on its belly. Not pretty. Had to call my new boss and explain that I wouldn't be able to make it in. Then, I had to call around and find a place that would bring me replacement wheels, and we had to find a way to jack the car up for installing them. It's not easy doing that when the car is just flat on the ground.
