Insp. daves745t 01-11-2005, 05:19 PM Looking at an older quattro near Providence and need a good indy mechanic for a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Any recommendations? Tom Faust 01-11-2005, 06:03 PM (401) 521-5217 LOCATION 82 Gano St Providence, RI 02906 The name Benz, has nothing to do with Mercedes. His main business is VW's. His assistant (last one I knew) may not know my name, but has seen my Plymouth and suspects it is a Hemi. Don't disappoint him. German Motors, on North Main Street is quite reputable, but as I recall they want nothing to do with older Audis. daves745t 01-12-2005, 11:52 AM Had a very nice conversation with Steve, seems like a great guy, very knowledgeable and competent. I got a very good, comfortable feeling when speaking with him. He was also very accomodating (he fit it in tomorrow) and reasonable price wise - $72/hr for labor. He said it should take about 1/2 hour, I asked him to take his time, take an hour, take an hour and a half and give it a good once over. Thanks again for the recommendation. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and I promise you'll find out how it works out. I may be seeking some further advice based on what he finds. -Dave Tom Faust 01-12-2005, 05:39 PM In fact, I've forgotten what I had for breakfast. Good thing I feel full. Steve is a nice guy. His secret sin is a Firebird Trans Am. IIRC, it is still in the wrapper. At least there is something special about it. Whatever it is escapes me. It isn't that my memory isn't good, it is just that it is short. |
