for those interested, he TIG the crack and overlapped it. He didn't want to do it because he said EM's are real close to impossible to weld and was afraid he wouldn't get paid if it failed. I convinced him I'd pay regardless since I didn't have anything to loose. After he welded he wanted to know what kind of car it was for because he was impressed by the metallurgy. Now I'll check for flatness. WOOOHH, that gasket for the turbo went for $35 at the Stealer, why did I do that?
