View Full Version : "bomb" question... As in brakes, I'm not planning to finally blow my car up...

I recently mentioned that the old lady failed the bomb test pretty badly the other day. I've been letting this sink in for a few days and doing other things. Poking around the engine compartment, I noticed that the sensor on the side of the brake fluid reservoir is snapped off and the wires are pulled out. The sensor mount has been cracked for some time, but it was probably bumped / yanked in replacing the pump-to-rack PS hose.

Does this control the brake boost in any way -- i.e., signal the bomb -- that could make the bomb test fail even though the bomb is ok?

the hydralic pressure is lower than it should be.

It doesn't control the braking, just controls you so you know that the braking is having a problem

I knew about the signal to the dash light. I was grasping at straws, hoping that it also sent some sort of regulatory signal to the bomb that would falsify a bomb test fail. I guess I have to face reality now... 8^{
