for my 10K, a couple of very minor warranty items and install of sport shocks/springs/stabilizer bars (which I'm providing, having purchased from a fellow a4.org'er. They seem happy to do the install, BTW.) If you e-mail me in a couple of days or watch this forum, I'll let you know whether Bellavia's service is as good as a number of our fellow NYC Metro friends posting here have said.
I bought my 98.5 1.8TQM from Palisades Audi in Rockland County back in February, and their service on the couple of visits I made to their garage was good, but they have a policy of not installing any parts brought to them by customers (even if, as in this case, the parts are brand new Audi OEM.) Therefore, I'm giving Bellavia a try: they seemed knowledgeable and courteous on the phone, and they are a modification-friendly dealership, apparently.
Hope this helped.

I bought my 98.5 QMS from Bay Ridge last June and have used their service department since. I've not had any problems - as a matter of fact, I've found them to be quite helpful and professional. Am I missing something? What's the cause of your disappointment?

...I have had very bad experiences dealing with Essex Sports Cars in Millburn and Bell Audi in Rahway. I will try Bellavia, which is 40 minutes farther, based on the feedback I've seen here.

I purchased my car from Essex Sports Cars in Maplewood NJ -- They are a great, family-owned "off the highway" dealer with a top-notch service department (I bought my last car there and they performed the service).
BTW, buying my A4 was a great, no-nonsense experience. I alos got a great deal.

Bell Audi is the worst dealership! They are arrogant and treated me like s**t -- Trust me -- STAY AWAY FROM BELL AUDI AT ALL COSTS!!!
too bad he left the place after three weeks and took another job... I guess he couldn't put up with the rest of the staff there...

True story: Those @$%^$ %%$*^$# a-holes would not even quote me a price b/c the jerk salesman assumed I would buy it in NY where I was from. What a moron. I told hime"give me your best price and I'm ready to buy". Can you imagine the stupidity of a dealer to send away a potential customer without even giving a quote?!

Thanx for the reply. Where exactly is Essex Sports cars and how would you compare their service with Zumbach service?

well, i got a better deal buying my car l in Jersey at Jack Daniels Audi. TheBayridge service department handles ALOT of cars
everyday and you dont get the best service, sometimes having to leave the car
overnight (when dropping it off at 8am). So im looking for a little more individual
attention.

Bought my 96 2.8QM at Bell about 2 months ago, and it wasn't an awful experience. The price was right and I got pretty good service from the sales staff. I was a little disappointed in them after doing a little research and finding out that my car did in fact have keyless entry, which they said it didn't (I know, I know... research first, buy second) and then wanted to charge me the full $153 for a fob. Ended up buying it from Impex for $125 just to not contribute to Bell's bottom line.
I intend to take the car to Essex for service since they're about 2 miles from my house..... Does anyone have any specific gripes with Essex? They pissed me off about 12 years ago (I was 22 or so) when I went shopping for a Jetta in jeans and a t-shirt and they wouldn't give me the time of day. On recent trips I've gotten much better service from the sales staff (guess I looked like I might have a few $$$ to spend this time). But no experience yet with service staff. Any advice?
