I've got about 75 miles on my new 1.8TQMS. Thus far I haven't exceeded 3500 rpm or 65-70 mph. Does this sound OK or am I babying it too much?
Also, does it take a long time for the RDS signal to set in on the radio? - I haven't been able to get mine to work yet. BTW, other than the door top and bottom and the rear, where are the other two speakers?
Thanks for your advice! The car is growing on me more as I drive it - I was going to decline it and wait for 99.5, but I'd be missing too much fun!
Mondo

Congrats Mondo!
Glad to hear you got your car. You're not pampering your car too much, but I'd probably stretch to RPMs to 4000. If you take a trip (highly recommended, BTW) drive down a curvy road and don't use the cruise control. Just vary the revs and enjoy yourself. At 1000 miles, you can, as my rep said, "let the horse out of the barn!"
RDS: Here in Central Oregon, there is only 1 RDS station and it's call letters/programming type come up right away. I suspect that the fact that you haven't seen anything means that your favorite stations don't broadcase the RDS signals.
Other speakers? There are other speakers? Huh! :-)
Best Regards and enjoy!
Steve

Per manual: in first 600 miles do not apply full throttle and do not exceed 3/4 of top speed... comes to ~4500 rpm and 97 mph.
RDS took me a long time and there is only 1 station I found with it (Houston).
Count 'em again... The rear speakers are counted as 2 each... b/c they have a tweeter built in.
:(
