Uh heeeem... OEM ;) SteveAngry 06-30-2004, 09:42 PM CharlesV8QExec 06-30-2004, 11:25 PM random technology makes nice high performance cats. used one before and noticed a difference right away on an older car of mine. RockinV8Q 07-01-2004, 09:34 AM The open chamber allows the exhaust flow to expand and swirl before exiting the other side...which creates backpressure. The large surface area also allows for a cooling effect that contributes to loss of exhaust velocity. BTTT If you really dont want a cat but have to at least have the appearance of having one for visual inspections you can gut one and run a straight pipe though the center....it looks like a cat, operates as a testpipe. When I accelerate, the pipes makes a "flapping" sound. Not sure how else to describe it. The cats were gutted before I replaced them, so obviously I didn't notice any performance difference.
