Just did a 1000 mile round trip and have had it being tormented by that *&^%) chime sounding off 50% of the time ! Am going to disconnect the little b*gger before they lock me up in a rubber room.
I'll leave the the little red thermometer idiot light flashing at me that seems to be the sidekick of the chime. Can't figure that warning out as coolant temp and levels are perfect. I cleaned the sensor contacts and checked for corrosion (none). Will check resistance on both sensors when it stops freakin' snowing.

restraints and back on the street ! Then I'll show everyone a bad day.... first I'm going to fly to Ingolstadt and hunt down the pointy headed SOB who designed these sensors and lock him in a cupboard for 3 years with that g.d. chime sounding in his ears at 160 db's. Then I'll hitchhike to Neckarsulm, root out the dashboard engineer from his Saddam hidey hole and tie down the sadistic p*rick into a bright red leather Recaro a la Clockwork Orange and make him stare at a flashing red thermometer icon until his synaptic gaps fill with pus and he begs for a job at Hyundai.
Boy, I feel better just thinking about it....

But seriously, where's that CHIME hiding ?

I beleive the chime is built into the cluster, I had mine apart and there is a small sounding device soldered to the board
