you find a quart or so of sweet, sweet blue nectar in the passenger footwell of your 200? And yes, the compressor is spewing moisture(probably evaporated coolant), onto the windshield from the defroster vents when in defrost mode. Just happened tonight, the car's outside, it's cold, and I'm too much of a pansy and too tired to have a look at it this evening. Any thoughts?

Did my compressor take a dump, or might it just be a blown hose? Methinks the latter, as the car has been in the elements for a while, and the hose probably got a bit crispy, but it's hard to say. Aw geez, I was just about to enjoy driving her again after 6 months. <sigh>

Thanks,

the blue sweet smelling liquid must be engine coolant (antifreeze.) Usually antifreeze is greenish in color, but I would guess your antifreeze is blue. Remove the cap from your coolant resevoir under the hood. If the smell and the color of the coolant are the same, or if your coolant level is low, then you know for sure that
you are loosing antifreeze.

And not all greens are created equal. Some will not play well with aluminum ;-)
