I am a novice at repairs with this vehicle, I know with the right direction I can fix most anything with a motor but what i've learned is right method and tool for the job. Who has pulled on before and what's the trick, 'cause there is no room in there. Go in from the bottom? How do I loosen the serpentine belt? sorry if this has been discussed b4, thank guys

For a 90 V8 you can remove the pump from the top, the only reason to get under the car is to access the rear bolts.

Remove the serp belt
Remove the three hoses from the pump.
Remove the dipstick tube.
Remove the two bolts at the rear of the pump.
Remove the electric fan and set to the side.
Remove the drivers side t/b cover
Remove the two bolts holding the front of the
pump.
Slide the pump forward and rotate till it clears and comes out the top.
