Help me off the fence. Worth the money? Any problems? How about the "enhanced" kit w/ fogs?
Thanks,

Thanks, John 98.5 QMS(all options, all stock) stanj 10-26-1999, 11:42 AM I've had the Xenons for the past ... well, maybe 15k miles. Most of my driving is at night and our A6 has them, too. Would I do it again? Sure. My only grief: No auto leveling. Because I have a very varying load in the car, I have them aimed low, so that even when I load 3 people I am not too high. So I am thinking about retrofitting the gyro - let's see how much that would be. I think I am the only LLtek Xenon customer who cares about this, most others have shown so far an attitude of "screw the oncoming traffic". Fogs? Yeah right. Forget them. I see Rich Quinlan already jump up and say that they are necessary, BUT: the US model, unless you re-wired it like mine, allows you to use the fogs only when the main lights are on. Now that has two drawbacks: if you are a cool type who wants to drive with fogs on all the time, you won't see any difference, the Xenons are so bright in comparison. If you use fogs in dense fog only, you won't see much of a difference because the Xenons will produce so much glare that the fogs will be pretty useless. So it's a lose-lose situation. For comparison, I was once stranded with our (Euro) A6 in dense dense fog at night. I mean, dense, visibility less than 30ft, clear visibility not even to the hood. With Xenons on the fogs didn't do any good because it felt like being submerged in milk; Xenons off and fogs on - well, visibility 30ft =) Nuf ranting. - Stan RobP 10-26-1999, 12:08 PM stanj 10-26-1999, 12:34 PM stanj 10-27-1999, 06:17 AM |
